AIL mentors participants of Social Inno Fest 2018
Updated: Oct 11, 2018
AIL is proud to have been part of the Social Inno Fest 2018 (SIF) today, a social hackathon, where numerous teams pitched their business ideas to solve social issues here in Singapore. Many of these bright minds driven to create a positive impact were mostly undergraduate or young working adults as well as students from our international schools. Involved in this event as mentors and judges were CEO, Dato’ Joel Low and General Manager, Mr Farhan Firdaus.
Participants had to build a sustainable solution for one of the most pressing social challenges. The six themes they could choose from included Elderly Isolation, Medical Compliance, Community Relations, Hearing Disability, Caregiver Stress and Kids and Learning.
The teams had a period of 36 hours to ideate and built a prototype for their solutions – aided by a variety of workshops and mentors to help and guide them before presenting it to the panel of judges.
AIL extends its heartiest congratulations to all participants for their incredible effort and to the five winning teams who will be developing a minimum viable product over the next four months with the prize money.
SIF2018 was organised by the Leng Kee CC Youth Executive Committee (YEC) and supported by numerous organisations including Lifelong Learning Council, Tote Board, the National Youth Council and Cycle & Carriage.
