AIL shares importance of blockchain technology in agriculture at Sustainable Food Summit 2018
Dato’ Joel Low, CEO of Agrivo International and Founder of Global Agricultural Exchange was invited as a speaker and panellist at the Sustainable Food Summit 2018 on 4th September 2018. Held at the Marina Mandarin Hotel, Singapore, the Sustainable Foods Summit has been covering significant developments in sustainability and eco-labels in the food industry since 2009.
At the summit, Dato’ Joel Low reiterated the challenges faced globally to improve food security and expressed the urgent need for more involvement into this industry that would need to increase its food production to match the growing population.
He later shared the existing and upcoming solutions introduced to the agricultural scene in recent years. Elaborating on this further, he spoke about the impact of urban farming and the use of blockchain technology in agriculture. He also shared about the Global Agricultural Exchange (GAX) and how the platform is designed to empower the agriculture ecosystem like never before.
“How are we going to make use of blockchain technology to solve traceability problems in our food sources and how do we make agriculture sexy again?”, exclaimed Dato’ Joel.
